About Us

We are a family of nine living in an Upstate NY Village. We live where I grew up surrounded with lush forests, sheep meadows, a river and many creeks, and the mountains. We celebrate life. We live life. We are getting to know our children deeply and intentionally so we can raise them up in a way that they will learn how to know and love themselves the same way. We garden and we let the weeds grow. We rescue cats and dogs and look forward to the day when we will have a slice of land to formally homestead once again. We work with our hands and we create. We are a family. Let me introduce us:

I'm Marcy

I am Mother to seven wonderful children. I discovered who I was meant to be in this lifetime when my first child was born. I never questioned my path only the choices I made along the way. I spend my days with my children, in work and play. I love to have busy hands in the kitchen, I'm learning to never let them be idle. I bake, a lot, especially in the cooler months. I'm constantly seeking better ways of feeding my family (spiritually, emotionally, and figuratively) while being mindful of our use of resources, etheric or otherwise. I have big dreams; for our garden, for myself, for my family. Sometimes I'm even fortunate enough to see some of these dreams realized. I dream of canning and putting food by, reading in a cozy nook I have yet to create in our home, making candles and lotions and tinctures, healing my family with oils and herbs (follow along this journey at Wild Soul Mama Wellness), and making our home beautiful.

 Lee

Lee has fully dedicated his life to being a father, foremost: our children will always be the single driving priority.  Beyond that, he's an exhaustive exegetic of all spiritual traditions he can lay head and heart to with the aspiration of some day identifying the translated Godhead in each iteration to a single exquisite, profound nexus.  (Spoiler alert: He's certain that locus point is Love...)  Lee often speaks with creatures large and less large and sometimes they speak in return (in their own way).  Walking barefoot in the forest returns his mind to a primal bliss.  Lee tries to live his life in prayer, although sometimes he feels utterly and pejoratively human, at sea, and questioningly alone (the Tao chuckles at this, and on a good day he does too).  Lee has been many things; now he's perhaps fewer of some, more of others.  Anything he contributes here will be as much a process of learning him for himself as it will be for you, and me and for that he apologizes...and you're welcome.

Casen and Daphne

Casen, our only son, is our eldest. He is determined and wise. His mind is brilliant and he can do anything he puts his mind to. He constantly amazes us with his ability to start a book and be done with it in no time (we're talking novels with 600+ pages here!!). He is a marksman, he is a hunter/gatherer, he is a provider. Casen has a heart that shines bright and is willing to work hard, if the the work is appealing enough :) Casen has a deep and devoted love for his sisters and family. He is currently letting his servant's heart shine by serving his family and country in the US Military.

Daphne is one of our warrior children. She arrived peacefully and without a sound into this world during a blizzard over six years ago. She is strong and resilient and determined. Daphne has had an uphill battle these last six years, her body doesn't work the way she wants it to, her mind races, her feelings are big and wide. Daphne was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation back in May 2020 so we are just stepping off on what this march looks like. Daphne is bright and has the most compassionate heart. She will cry with you, laugh with you, and work diligently to bring a smile to your face if you are down.

Bella

Bella is a our etheric being. She has a sixth sense that goes unexplained and sometimes not clearly understood.  Bella has a gift that is so unique and wonderful and beautiful to see in action. She never knows when she's using it, it comes naturally. Bella loves art and music and is funny and daring and she is also a wonderful older sister. She loves her little sisters so deeply and will go above and beyond to help them feel special and appreciated; she swings with them, paints their finger nails, reads them stories, makes them brownies. Bella is kind and generous and compassionate. She is a good friend. She is our kind soul.

Charlotte

Charlotte is our mighty warrior. She fought like hell to get here and when she arrived the energy that came with her was bigger than any of us could have ever imagined. And it continues to be that way. Charlotte, too, is wise. She can take any situation, and with her magical abilities, she can make it better, or at the very least, make it manageable. Charlotte is responsible, kind, smart, funny, compassionate, the quintessential friend. She would go to the ends of the earth for you. She would give you the shirt of her back. Charlotte is the ultimate giver.

Kiki

Kiki is our "character". She is goofy, funny, and so much fun to be with. She has an imagination that is as wild as the wild, wild, west. She tells stories better than anyone we know and has a smile that beams, shines brighter than the sun. She can captivate a whole room full of people with one little smile. Kiki loves art of all modalities (needle felting, painting, mixed media). She loves to secretly make her spaces special, creating little alters wherever she goes. She loves her own quiet time and peace from the rest of the family. Kiki loves all animals, and can whisper to any of them.

Seraphina

Seraphina is our fiery spirit. Her name in Hebrew means "burning" and she embodies that name wholly. She is intense yet hysterical. She is sweet but determined. She is the ultimate snuggler and requests a hand to hold at every minute of every day. Seraphina hasn't ceased to amaze us with what she is capable of learning in such a short amount of time. Her favorite things are to climb, run, ride bikes, swim, camp, kayak, snuggle, eat, and be Isla's big sister. Also, she's our Daddy's girl.

Isla

Oh, Isla. She is our newest bundle of joy. She joined our family in December of 2019. She came with a flurry of activity, her birth story is one that we won't soon forget...but leads us to planning quite possible the most epic one year birthday celebration! Isla is chatty, busy, and thrives with constant contact. She loves LOVES to nurse, play with Kiki, follow Seraphina and Daphe around ( and especially loves when Seraphina carries her around and plays with her outside). She loves bike rides and stroller walks. She doesn't much love sleeping or napping but is digging playing with her food. Also, she's a Daddy's girl.

Phew! There's the lot! You will be seeing plenty of these faces in the weeks, months, years to come.  So, pull up a chair, make some tea and sit with us awhile. We're happy to get to know you and we gladly welcome you into our home, here, on Heart, Hearth, and Homestead.
